Christian Bautista's album Romance Revisited: The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan will soon be released in Malaysia and other Asian countries.

Asia’s romantic balladeer, Christian Bautista releases his first album under Universal Records (and his fifth overall) titled Romance Revisited: The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan. Produced by Platinum producer Ito Rapadas, the 19-track concept album contains Christian’s rendition of songs popularized by OPM luminary and Double Diamond Artist Jose Mari Chan.

The album includes Christian’s collaboration with OPM’s biggest names—Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha, Double Diamond Artist Jose Mari Chan and Philippines’ Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo. The carrier single “Tell Me Your Name” is currently one of the most requested songs on FM stations, and its music video featuring Thai model-actress Paula Taylor has just debuted on MYX.

Christian is also the MYX Celebrity VJ for the month of October.

Christian’s recording career was established early on with the release of the balladeer’s phenomenal first single “The Way You Look At Me,” culled from his Quadruple Platinum, self-titled debut album, which was later released in Indonesia (where it was certified Quadruple Platinum) and other Asian countries. He has also done original music videos, his own television special aired over RCTI, the country’s largest television network and various brand endorsements all over Indonesia.

Plans for the release of Christian’s newest album Romance Revisited: The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan is already in the pipeline. Right after its release in the Philippines, Indonesia’s biggest record label PT Aquarius Records (which also released Jose Mari Chan’s Constant Change in the ’80s) will release Christian’s latest album. For the Indonesian release, Christian has recorded a duet titled “Ngiti” (translated in Bahasa) with Indonesian female recording star Noryn Aziz. Album release in Malaysia and other Asian countries will follow suit.

Catch Christian Bautista at the SM North Edsa Skydome for his new album launch this Saturday, October 3, at 6 p.m. He will also launch his new album in the noontime musical variety show ASAP ‘09 on Sunday, October 4. He will also be in SM Fairview (October 11) and SM Baguio (November 20) to promote his latest album.

The beautifully-packaged album comes with a 2010 Christian Bautista Photo Calendar. Limited Edition Romance Revisited: The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan CD (with free minus one CD) is available exclusively at all Odyssey outlets.

First week of August nang formal na i-announce ng Universal Records na isa na sa pinakabagong contract artist nila si Christian Bautista. At ngayong mid-September, posible nang mapakinggan ang kauna-unahang album ni Christian under Universal at ito ay ang revival ng halos lahat ng mga hit songs ni Jose Mari Chan.

The title of the album is Romance Revisited: The Love Story of Jose Mari Chan.

Ang first single ni Christian ay ang “Tell Me Your Name” at kunsaan, nai-tape na rin nila ang music video ng kanta with Paula Taylor as his leading lady.

The idea of Christian reviving the well-loved musics of Jose Mari came up when they learned about the Asian Pop Idol’s portfolio or achievements as one of the well-loved singer rin, especially in other Asian countries like Indonesia.

Para raw silang nag-flashback, with Christian being the Pop Idol and also popular in Indonesia, samantalang nung late ’80s naman, ang album ni Jose Mari ang isa rin sa pinakamabentang album noon sa naturang bansa.

In fact, Jose Mari is one of the very few Filipinos who have reached the double diamond award na katumbas nito ay 20x platinum.

Nakikita raw nila that both artists have a huge following in Asia and both are romantic balladeers. In addition, may blessing din ni Jose Mari ang pagre-revive ng kanyang mga kanta sa buong album ni Christian.

Other songs included in the album are “Please Be Careful with My Heart,” which was originally sung by Regine Velasquez and Jose Mari Chan, as well as Christian’s first recorded duet with Sarah Geronimo.

May duet din si Christian with Regine via the song, “My Girl, My Woman, My Friend” na originally ay duet naman ni Jose Mari with Janet Basco.

“Here and Now” naman ang isa pa sa mga duet ni Christian with Lani Misalucha.

Hindi nawawala ang pressure kay Christian to be compared with the top balladeer who has earned different kind of awards any singer could dream of. Pero more than that, ang aim daw ni Christian for reviving Jose Mari’s music is to introduce these songs to the new generation.
